Free Quran memorization online (hifz)
Ayatfree is a free Quran reader you can use to memorize. Listen to a verse, hide it, and try to recite it from memory. There is nothing to install and no sign-in.
Recall mode: recite from memory
Press Recall above the verses and the whole surah is blanked out. Recite a verse, then tap a blank word to show it and check yourself. Every verse also has its own eye button, so you can hide just one verse. The bar that appears has Hide all and Reveal all.
Focus mode: one verse at a time
Focus dims every verse except the one you are on, and keeps it in the middle of the screen as you move on or as the recitation plays. Tap a verse to choose it.
Repeat a verse
In the player at the bottom, the repeat button plays the verse again and again, and the speed button slows it to 0.75x or speeds it up to 1.25x or 1.5x. Next and previous move one verse at a time, and Auto-read plays the surah straight through from the verse you are on.
To work on single words, see word by word: Repeat plays a word as many times as you choose (1 to 10), then moves on to the next word by itself.
A simple way to practise
- Open a short surah, for example Surah Ikhlas.
- Play a verse and repeat it until it feels familiar.
- Turn on Recall, recite the verse, then reveal it to check.
- Tap the heart on a verse to save it. Saved verses are listed on the home page.
What Ayatfree does not do
It does not keep a memorization schedule or a score: Recall is a way to check yourself. Your saved verses and your last-read place stay in your own browser only.
