Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Ayatfree is a free, nonprofit Qur'an platform. We believe reading and memorizing the Qur'an shouldn't cost you your privacy. We collect as little information as possible, show no ads, and never sell your data.

Information we collect

What we don't do

Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies until you choose. On your first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics. If you Accept, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set a few measurement cookies (see “Analytics” below); if you Decline or ignore the banner, no analytics and no analytics cookies load. We never use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Separately, to remember your reading preferences we store small amounts of data in your browser's local storage — this is not a cookie and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data removes both your preferences and your saved consent choice, so we'll ask again.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — for example, which surahs are opened and which features help — so we can improve it. This is measurement only: we run no ads and never use your data to advertise to you. Google Analytics collects limited data such as a randomized identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address (which Google does not log), device and browser type, and the pages you view. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser data, which removes your choice and the analytics cookie. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

If you accept, we also use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used through heatmaps and anonymized session recordings — aggregated views of clicks, scrolls, and mouse movement that show where visitors get stuck. Clarity masks the text you read and anything you type by default, so recordings do not capture your content, and it is not used to identify you or to advertise. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement for how Microsoft handles this data.

Services we rely on

To deliver the Qur'an text, translations, and audio — and, if you consent, to measure usage — we work with a small number of trusted providers, including our hosting and content-delivery providers, the Quran.Foundation content service, and Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (loaded only with your consent). These providers may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) only as needed to serve the site. The feedback form delivers your message by email through our mail provider.

Children

Ayatfree is suitable for all ages. We do not require accounts and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

You can clear your locally stored preferences at any time via your browser. If you sent us feedback and would like us to delete it, contact us at [email protected]. Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal information you've provided; we'll honour valid requests as required by law.

International visitors

We serve a global audience. The site is operated from Canada, and information may be processed in Canada and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the site, you understand your information may be handled in these locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
